As many of you who follow me on Twitter know, I am a true crime show junkie. I watch Investigation Discovery Channel on an endless loop through my DVR. I watch Dateline, 48 Hours, Stolen Voices, True Crime, etc. If it's on that channel I have probably seen it. Next Friday, February 18th Investigation Discovery is airing the Injustice Files for the first time and I'm pretty excited about it. So excited that they sent me a preview copy. The premise of the show is Keith Beauchamp, a nationally acclaimed documentary film-maker, has teamed up with Cynthia Deitle, Unit Chief for the Civil Rights Unit of the FBI to solve Civil Rights/Jim Crow Era murders that have since gone cold. In this era of American History, crimes against black people went unrecorded so trying to find the killers seems to be a mighty task. Beauchamp and Deitle seem up to the challenge.
After watching the pilot episode, I must say I was moved and definitely glad these crimes are being brought to light. “The Secrets of Natchez” (World Premiere: Friday, Feb. 18 at 9 p.m. EST) looks at the death of Wharlest Jackson, father of five and treasurer for the local chapter of the NAACP, who was murdered with a car bomb. Hearing the explosion, Jackson's son rode his bike to the scene of the crime and unfortunately witnessed the results of this sophisticated murder plot. He had just been promoted to a job usually reserved for whites only. I won't give away the rest but this is a must watch show. Check out clips here: http://investigation.
So many crimes of this nature occurred during the Civil Rights Era and the fact that Beauchamp and Deitle even have the resources to pull this case together is amazing. Many of these crimes remain unsolved yet Beauchamp and Deitle are determined to solve as many of these cases as they can. Things of this nature move me to tears and this show was no different. Beauchamp is relatable and seems to want to get to the bottom of each story. Deitle also has a desire to solve every case brought to her. Be sure to tune in on Investigation Discovery. Let me know what you think of the show!

So I watched the show last night and I have to say, it's very emotional for me. I was born in late eighties so I didn't have to go through what my ancestors did but the history will always be there. My grandmother is a mulatto and since me and all of my family was born and raised in the deep south, it was hard, especially for her. I am always moved when I watch something that details African American history and I am always thankful of what everyone in my family did in order for me and my cousins to have a better life. I'm truly grateful that I now have a great job that gives me endless opportunities and that I have a college degree to back it up. I work and subscribe to DISH Network and I am using the HD Free for Life promotion so I get to watch this show and all of my other favorite shows in the best quality possible and the best thing about it is I will never pay another penny for it. DISH offers HD Free for Life on their lowest package which is the America's Top 120 and DISH still offers the most HD channels out of any of the competitors. I always recommend DISH Network and I am inviting anyone who comes across this post to explore the endless possibilities with DISH Network and experience a value unheard of by any other TV provider!
