In Search of a New NFL Team: San Diego Chargers

I am on a quest to find a new NFL team. I'm going team by team to find out which team is the best fit for me. Up first is the AFC West.

The Chargers have a lot going for them. They have Phillip Rivers, who everyone thinks is REALLY good. Early betting lines have the Chargers third in line to represent the AFC in  the Super Bowl next year (after the Patriots and Steelers). They have a great offense with Vincent Jackson and Antonio Gates. San Diego is amazing with great weather so I'm thinking that this is a good spot for me. I love any place that hardly ever gets cold. I love their colors. The powder blues are awesome and they even have their own disco song. But...THEY DON'T WIN. Why would I leave the Titans for a team that gets in the playoffs the same amount of time? I was out to dinner last night with the "man" and he reminded me that their ownership had a pretty bad reputation. I think he referred to their owner as "The Lord of No Rings". That's never good. I can stay winless with the Titans. The Manning's told them NO when they drafted Eli. There's something to that-right? Another problem is Qualcomm Stadium. It's a DUMP. Plus getting to home games would be an issue. I live in Central Illinois so going to home games would be a once in a season type deal. That's tragic. Right now San Diego is in my maybe pile. Great talent, great weather, but they don't win. What's a girl to do?!

Stay tuned. Tomorrow I make the case for the (vomit) Broncos. Tim Tebow? Really?

  1. My hometown Steelers were a losing franchise until the 1970's. The question is whether you suffer in long silence and wait for your big break.
